Company History
Doric has been an innovator and leader in the burial vault industry for over half a century. With our well-established line of concrete burial vaults, as well as the Classic Metal Vaults® line of air-seal vaults, Doric has the most complete product line of high quality concrete and metal burial vaults with assured reliability. The manufacturing plant of each Doric licensee is independently inspected and certified by a field inspector of the National Concrete Burial Vault Association (NCBVA). This certification ensures the consistent manufacturing of quality burial vaults that meet or exceed industry standards. Doric is the only vault manufacturer that requires this independent audit. Additional Historical Information:
Founded in 1955 as an alliance of independent and well-established burial vault manufacturers, Doric® Products represented innovation right from the beginning. The very first Doric vault was fiberglass lined, and a series of improvements in design and production followed. Eighty-six vaults were sold in the first year of operation, and the pursuit of better products and manufacturing techniques has never ceased. Today, Doric is a leading manufacturer of both concrete and metal burial vaults, cremation products, and infant casket/vault combination units. With independently owned manufacturing facilities throughout the U.S. and Canada, Doric offers the widest range of choices in the burial vault industry. Our concrete burial vaults are lined with ABS Fiberlon®, ABS Lustra-Tech®, Fiberlon®, and Durapreme® plastics and high-grade metals. Doric Olympian® burial vaults are unique in the industry, built with the strength of four layers. We also offer various triple- and double-lined burial vaults that are easily personalized. Doric's urn vaults are available in a wide variety of finishes and styles. Some of the more popular varieties include cultured marble and wood urns. In 2001, Doric purchased Classic Metal Vaults® to further expand our product line and to bring our tradition of innovation to metal burial vaults. The CMV division moved to a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant to ensure the production of high quality air-seal vaults. With variations such as Porcelain Enamel Steel, Aluminum, Galvanized Steel, Copper, Bronze and Stainless Steel, the CMV line of products boasts the largest selection of metal vaults available anywhere. These air-seal vaults are also available in a variety of finishes such as powder coating and textured paint. The Doric family continues to grow with more than 125 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Doric Products is a proud member of the National Concrete Burial Vault Association and our members have served that organization in roles from district representative to the president of the organization. Doric also supports or is involved in the National Funeral Directors Association, International Cemetery and Funeral Association, National Catholic Cemeteries Association and the Cremation Association of North America. Members of the Doric family have also served the Funeral and Memorial Information Council (FAMIC). Doric Products and Classic Metal Vaults provide customer support before, during and after the sale. Our commitment to advancing the industry includes product innovations, national advertising and continuing education for funeral directors. We are pleased to be able to fully serve the funeral industry and offer the widest line of quality choices in concrete burial vaults, metal burial vaults, and cremation products. |
